Maggie's Sketchbook

This work represents a collaborative effort between my late aunt, Maggie (Kinnaird), and me. I recently discovered one of Maggie's sketchbooks and recreated some of her paintings and drawings in my medium of fabric and stitching. I may not have her permission, but I feel I have her blessing!

The photo of the two of us was probably our last, taken in 2005. She was an elegant, outspoken and multi-talented lady … she sang opera at Glyndebourne as a young woman, she was an accomplished tailor, a creative embroiderer, an avid gardener, a painter and, to top it all off, she made the best steak ‘n kidney pud ever! I miss our Sunday morning telephone conversations.
